Latin Teacher required for September 2017: The Falcons School for Boys, Richmond, TW9

We are looking for a dynamic, enthusiastic graduate to teach Latin to Years 5 to 8 in our expanding and vibrant independent school for boys aged 3 – 13. The position would suit a teacher with senior school (independent or maintained sector) experience, as well as those who have experience of teaching children of prep school age (8-13) whether as an NQT or those new to the profession. Children take Common Entrance and Scholarship exams to leading senior schools at the end of Year 8. Boys learn Latin from Year 5. An ability to offer a second subject will be an advantage. All staff are expected to contribute to the wider life of the school in extra curricular activities.
The Falcons School for Boys was founded in 1956 in Notting Hill and is now located in two sites: the Pre-Preparatory site in Chiswick and the Preparatory site in Richmond. Classes are small and the school maintains a high academic standard. The Falcons is part of the Alpha Plus Group, the gold standard in education, and has its own salary scale. Alpha Plus Group has the professional development of staff as one of its key objectives.

The Falcons School for Boys is a thriving and highly successful non-selective, independent school for boys aged three to thirteen, based on two sites, one in Chiswick for the Pre Prep boys and one in Richmond for the Prep boys which was opened in 2008.  The Pre-Prep, formally Faulkner House Boys, was founded in 1956 and at that time located in Notting Hill.  In 1989 it transferred to its present site in Burnaby Gardens, changing its name to The Falcons.  It is part of the Alpha Plus Group, one of the UK’s most successful educational organizations.  Our sister school is the Falcons School for Girls in Putney which was acquired by the group in 2014.

The post falls vacant from 1st September 2017.  We are seeking to appoint a full-time, appropriately qualified, hard-working, enthusiastic and reliable teaching assistant who is committed to providing high quality learning experiences for our boys.

Remuneration

Salary will be according to experience and qualifications.  The Alpha Plus Group has its own generous salary scale.
