Professional artist, Luke Martineau, President of the Chelsea Art Society, officially opened the exhibition and was on hand to offer advice to the boys before picking out his favourite pieces of artwork.
A variety of art forms were on display including paintings, ceramics, collages and print work. We also held a silent auction of specially designed pieces in aid of two charities.
The proceeds from the auction will go to the school’s chosen charity, The House of Daraa, a Syrian relief charity. However, the money raised from one of the paintings will be donated to The Poppy Factory, based in Richmond. The school has close affiliations with the factory and wanted to do something extra for the third World War One commemoration year.
